    Default Nightly Night Heron

I took this photo last night at the pond. I also worked my way around the edge of the pond and got some frame filling shots of this heron, but I preferred this more distant shot as something unusual.

The Yellow Crowned Night Heron was just coming out of it's daytime hiding place and surveying the landscape for it's upcoming supper.

I like the wide crop and composition and would try to remove the color cast.

I really like the mood of this image, Daniel, and the placement of the bird on the far right side. You might consider trying to tone down the white areas in the background and cropping from the bottom - about up to the faint light horizontal line in the right half of the image. :)

Lovely looking image. I like the idea of the large setting. I also like the idea of a crop from bottom. Yes, it looks like all the bird needs is a stretch and a yawn and then get down to some serious work. Nice mood. Dave

Color cast is the first thing I saw too. :) Otherwise the wide view is very appealing. Love those palm leaves and it shows that not having a mega large bird in frame is still an effective form of bird photography. Good one Daniel! :)
