    Roger:

Loons are one of my favorites. Yours is sharp, well exposed. I really like the heavy swells and his low position in the water with the back partially underwater.

The light was well off your left shoulder, giving a bit more shadowing of the head then I would prefer. His head is also turned away a bit for my taste. There are some sharpening artifacts starting to show up, noticeable along the bottom of the bill.

Hope you have some more to share.

    Cheers

    Randy

Roger - This is a very unique shot and quite amazing close-up of a loon - wow! The water looks looks great with all of its ripples and light textures. The eye of the loon looks very cool with the black shadow at the front. I'm seeing some noise in the shadowy areas and on the bill. This one would be worth some further optimization, as the other Dan Brown would say. Great image.

You must have been pretty fast on the button to get this one so close Roger. Well done. I like the colours in the head and neck area. Nice and sharp as well. Dave
