another royal tern from crandon beach on sunday morning. not much work here. boosted midtone contrast, straightened and cropped for composition. nr on the bg and sharpened bird.
D300, 300mm, f/6.3, 1/1600s, 0EV, ISO 640. i was raising and lowering the ISO to get a decent shutterspeed.

Well I can tell the sun was at your back. Actually, when it is slightly angled like so, it adds to the texture of the feathers (well done). Whites have good texture. On my Canon I would probably have to set an EV-1/2 to protect the whites. Al is always talking about some of the differences between Nikon & Canon regarding metering. Exposure techs look strong and composition is original - love the OOTB thinking - well done.

I'm not sure this is cute or not, but the image looks very, very good. Excellent black and white details, sharp, and wonderful capture angle. The shadow adds to the image too. I might tone down the red channel on the beak a bit.
