Took some time on Monday afternoon to go to the local pond after more than a week of non-stop rainfall.

Loved the low angle shot I got of this YBD on the pond in golden light.

    Techs:
    Canon 1000D with 100-400mm L IS USM @ 400mm
    f5.6 @ 1/640 SS @ ISO-400

Sharpness, angle and eye contact look good. I would go for a tighter crop. Does it need a bit CCW rotation?

thanks Axel - I already rotated so that the line of intersection of the duck's body with the water looks straight, as to me that was the definitive line that drew my eye?

Stunning light on the YB mate, sharp, and I would maybe take a bit off the top. Nice job to be able to go out and shoot.;)

thanks for the feedback Stu, Jim & Harshad Bhai...

I am trying to refrain from cropping too much - like giving space to my images these days (plus it preserves valuable pixels ;))

I don't mind the space bro. Looks good, HA is fine and light is fab too. Well done. :)

    Hi Morkel.
When looking at the horizontal line you must not forget perspective. The ducks head is closer to you than the tail, the intersection line will not be horizontal. I agree with Axel on this.
I like the exposure and detail and also think that there is too much dead space and would like to see a bit less.
