Michael, Very nice dahlia shot and the canvas effect came out well. You could maybe take it a step further and add a vignette-either to blur or darken around the flower a bit. But that is just a suggestion. Nice soft lighting. Subtle yet effective. Well done.
PS-I like your new signature. I need to work on mine.

Hi Michael, Very pretty dahlia and I like the subtle texture. I agree with Denise that darkening the BG a tad and/or adding a vignette would help make the flower really shine as the star of the photo!

Michael, the texture is perfect and the details stunning......great exp[osure/pp.
I tried desaturating the vignette and then darkening a wee bit. This may be
more effective than a darkened green
