This is an image of my first visit to the Big Island in 19**. ;) The truck had been left and was encased by the lava flow. Since that time I have revisited it and the scene was totally different, due to more recent flows, which required that the road be moved to the other side of the chassis's location. On our last trip we did not find it, and I presume the road has either been moved again, or it has been totally encased. Hawaii is a changing landscape, with many opportunities to record it over time. Hope you get a chance someday to record a slice of it.
Modification included DAP Starry Night and a light setting of the Diffused Glass for the frame.
Mark, I wonder if you could reveal a bit more of the details of the scene after the DAP so that it would be a bit more recognizable. I'm thinking the round part is the wheel. It sounds like this is a very neat image, I just can't make it out. Maybe if you post the original it will help us see your vision.:)
Hi Mark, I agree with Denise on showing a bit more details. I can make out the basic shape of the truck, but would be nice if it was a bit more recognizable. I do like the effects and colors; the yellow areas on the left remind me of flames.
Thank you for viewing and comments. Appreciate them.
This is a DAP conversion as noted. I used the DAP Van Gogh - Starry Nights theme for the conversion. As you know, Van Gogh was not a realist, nor am I. :D But I liked the effect and so that is what you see. As noted, the Diffused glass was at a low setting to just make the frame sparkle. It has little effect on the image itself.
I have attached the original "scanned" image, that I had done years ago by a not so knowledgable scanning business. But with some tweaking, I have made it usable. This is the untweeked version enlarged for your viewing pleasure. Hope you can see the chassis in this one! :D
