At least the overcast conditions extends your shooting window. This image was captured late morning.
The image was captured from a hide, I would have preferred being a bit lower but that was not possible.

Dave, I guess it is the Lake Panic hide -- It is the best there is. To get a lower angle the hide would need to be in the water, but I reckon they have done an amazing job with it. You have captured the stalking very very well - nice and sharp -- they are such successful hunters - I counted a 90% success rate...!

Thanks Nevil and Clement for looking and for comments.
Nevil yes it is the Lake panic hide. Would love to see a hide with the opening close to water level. Crocks and hippo would be a problem though.

Super shot and great reflection Dave. Well done.

I am off to lake panic hide on Thursday so I am hoping for some nice subjects there.

I like the fishing pose Dave, and the overcast conditions have brought his colours nicely. Good job with the high ISO. Well captured.

Great work Dave. Love the pose, but the claw out of the water is what I love most. Thanks for sharing. :)

Thanks to all for looking and for comments.
Phil we had a lot of bird action but no animals due to rain and overcast conditions. I am sure you will have a great time.

Dave I love the low angle and posture of this Heron as it waits for its prey very nicely captured...
