This morning early I got some pretty good light and captured these two fine looking birds (semi-palmated plovers, I believe) looking at me. I was far away so the image is heavily cropped, but is rather lightly tweaked otherwise. C&C, please.

Good HA on both. I like the color tones on birds, log and BG. Might try to tone down the log a bit.

Nice earth tones and nature colors. Exposure techs look solid maybe a little less perch - I like it.

I like the -2/3 to protect the whites. I am on work monitor, how does histogram look.

two great poses. love the looking back and clean bg. the light looks harsh and contrasty. whites are blown. tough exposure with darks and lights in the birds with that kind of light. nice composition, wendell.

Phil, thanks for the correction! I'll change the filename I've assigned to these two birds . . .

Hi Wendell - as mentioned - like the poses, HARSH light has hurt you here.

Hi Wendell I think the large crop is hurting, not much detail on the feathers ... light wise it might have been fairly early but sure got harsh in a hurry !!!
