    Default Male Belted Kingfisher

    Hello,

My name is Remy (Nickname Mejnour) and I am new to BPN. I learn so much watching your nice pictures and reading your comments that I decided to partcipate to try to improve my skill. Photography is pretty new to me, I begin 2 years ago and I fall in love with bird photography.

I took this one from a blind, and just had time to take 1 picture before he left. I know that part of the neck is borderline in the white.

    Thanks for watching

    Remy

Welcome, Remy! Very nice first post and great idea to post. I like the pose and details. The image looks quite undersaturated and I would remove the dark band at the top and the green spot in the lower left. Keep them coming!

    Welcome to BPN Remy!!

My nemesis bird, I can never get these guys to sit long enough for me to even get into the same town! :)

You did well here, couple nits mentioned above but none of them really bother me. I wish I had this one!

Nice shot, the dark band at the top bothers me slightly, the green I think is OK but would probably take it out anyway. White on the neck looks fine on my monitor. Detail is good, love the compostion and the angle of the perch, well done.

Welcome, Remy. I really like what you have done here. The background banding is very pleasant and adds interest to me. This is quite a wonderful image - as mentioned before, the kingfisher is a difficult subject. Great job!

Nice clean shot of a BKF. Small nits mentioned, but no biggie.

Thanks guys for your interest and valuable comments,

Georges, I understand you. I think it is a Nemesis bird for a lot of photographer. Actually he can see me arrive (to get into my blind) miles aways. I finally suceed to took him we I decide to go in my blind 1 hours before the sunrise...

Ian, me too it bothers me a little bit, but this picture is a no crop, so maybe a little cloning job can be a +

Marko, Terry, Len, Doug, thank for comments and hints

Alex I was really curious about the undersaturated topic. I did a try with the master channel +40 saturation. I not sure about the result, actually I not sure if it was what your have in mind. Thanks anyway for comments
