    Found at my favorite spot Ridgefield NWR.
    D2X's 80-400mm VR at 400mm, 1/350sec at f/5.6, iso 200, Pattern metering, WB auto.

    Great shot, maybe swap some ISO for shutter speed. Background reeds can be a tad messy, could you get more to the left to open up scene?

    Well done, a beautiful species, nice HA and eye and the color looks spot on. Wonderful habitat picture, wish I was there.

    Hi Craig - ditto Jeffs comments - lots to like here.
    200 ISO is a little low even with the D2X would probably be at 400.

    Nice habitat image. I like the reflections of bird and reeds. Also like the colors.

    one beautiful bird!!! agree with the others. open water would be perfect. nice exposure and detail. would love to see this bird myself!!!
