    Photographed last winter on one of the few days the lagoon had ice on it .

    Canon 300 + 1.4
    Canon Eos Mk 11 1 D
    T,v 1/4000
    Av 5.6
    ISO 500
    Exposure 0

    Large crop ,lightened background and patched out a lot annoying broken ice in places

    C/C please as wish to learn

    I like the wing position and tail touching the ice. A lower angle would have helped with the dark spots in the BG.

    I like the tail contact on the ice and water drops in the air front of the duck as well.

    You caught the peak of action and I bet this would have made a great video. Did the bird slide or break the skim of ice ?
    Great focus,wing spread,tail and tail position.
    Actually my first reaction was to chuckle.

    I love this!! Great pose and sharp! Excellent composition. The tail touching the ice is awesome! Maybe slightly oversharpened. Would also try to tone down the bright white area on the head which looks slightly hot.

    Lovely dynamic image, with the feel of a hood ornament ;)

    Just a little hot on the cheek but otherwise an excellent exposure, well done.

    That looks just so cold. Very high on the cute scale as well.
    Moment very well capture and presented. I like it when you can feel the atmosphere in an image.
