Does this belong in wild & free birds if it's a setup? The fuschia certainly was hand-of-man.
Taken with the Canon 5D and the 70-200, 5 flashes.

Love the color and detains on both the bird and flower. One of best shots I have seen!
My only nit is that there are multiple catch lights on the hummer's eye.

Superb "studio" shot. I'd love to be able to set up shots like that. Congratulations.
Best.

Great moment and lighting!
I like the pose, details and BG. I might remove two of the three catchlights and I find it a bit distracting that the two leaves on the top are clipped. Where did you photograph this beauty?
What a beauty!! I love the pose on this bird and the sweet BG. Nice and sharp and good techs as well, I like it quite a bit. You could try and crop it right below the leaves also.
Beautiful image... Really nicely done!

Well done.
Exquisite!! and removing a couple of catch-lites would further enhance this image for me. Well captured!!
Great photo Susan! I'll be going back to Savegre in 2 weeks and I plan on doing some multi-flash hummingbird photography while there. The placement of the hummingbird feeders at Savegre doesn't work well with ambient light, and last year, I was forced to photograph the hummers near the feeders. I'm looking forward to improved photographic opportunities this year. Any suggestions?
Simply stunning Susam. Love the wonderful detail, colors and action as well as an outstanding composition and lighting. . Really love this !!!!
