Would love to be there. Only problem, there's a matter of a huge ocean to consider. Pity.

I would love to come but it is the saturday before Christmas. The other thing is 3:45 is low tide that afternoon which can hamper photography of the ducks.

Long drive for me but me and my wife Kyle are considering it and we'll see how things get especially so close to X-Mas.

We put it on our calendar. If everything falls into place (i.e. weather cooperates; holiday shopping done; etc), we'll be there. That 1535 low tide is a bummer but there is plenty of other things there to shoot if the ducks are too low in the water. Just remember to be careful out on that jetty.

    Hey All,
While normally I would pay attention to the tides for the birds at Barnegat...given the multiple schedules we had to work around....you get the idea! Like Ed mentioned......still plenty there to photograph of the smaller birds!

    Hi All,
Just be aware that the gates do get locked.....so park outside the lot near the wall or around the corner if you plan on staying towards sunset! Let's say we will meet aound 2pm......this will give us time to walk out onto the jetty! Do be aware that the rocks can be slippery and with the wind......very cold!

They lock the gates at 4 PM. The forecast for the 19th looks pretty good, partly cloudy, 40F, 10mph wind.

    Hi All,
Weather is looking iffy (cloudy/chance of snow or rain....Yikes!!!) I am still heading down and we will be meeting around 1pm at the lighthouse......although Artie will be there all day possibly. Check the Mid Atlantic Region Forum for the latest updates!

Our weather forecast for Maryland calls for heavy snow beginning tonight, and accumulating to 10-12 inches through tomorrow. I'm afraid that Linda and I may have to pass on this GTG.

Based on this morning's snow forecast for tomorrow of anywhere from 6+" in the Philadelphia region to 10-20" in central Jersey, I will NOT be attending tomorrow's GTG....
