This was taken last year just outside of Cody and the horses came so close to Fab that she could almost reach out and touch them. It was a awesome experience.
You can get close to wild horses when they have become habituated to human presence, as with any wild animal. Horses can be very curious about us humans. One still wants to be careful and not get between them as they will often bite, kick, etc with one another and you don't want to be standing too close when that happens. Same applies to domestic horses!
It is a very sweet experience to be out in the wild and have a band of these animals accept you. Fabs looks quite happy here, and the light is wonderful. The horses look very healthy. Are these McCullough Peaks horses?
This is super. Looks really nice. I am an old--long time horse trainer--so I appreciate this one--and yes, the horses look to be in excellent health.
Nice Judy!
I still remember that day, I was a bit scared, but it was wonderful to be so close. They cam to us rahter than us crowding them.
Thanks for the memories, comadre :)
