    While cleaning up my old Louisiana files, this guy was waiting to be rediscovered.

    Canon 20D

    100-400mm at 400
    Hand held in a boat.

    Iso 400 f/5.6 1/1000

    Amazing head and neck plumage, Gary. Image looks a little soft - not sure if it is a focus, big crop or sharpening for web issue. Red eye makes a dramatic focal point.

    Hey Gary. The red eye really anchors the image. It does appear a little soft. I was going to flip out if you said you photographed this at the Bosque!

    Me too, Doug! I wish that had been at the Bosque! A beautiful image, Gary, with great color, composition and BG. I agree it's a tad soft, and stopping down on the aperture might have gotten more of the plumage in focus along the neck. Would love to have this image in my files.
