Got this yellowhammer image this morning. It is my daughter's 16th birthday and we took a walk at the lake with cameras to catch some memories.

Stunning image Tony! Great complementary BG, fabulous perch and a great looking, sharp, colourful bird with crest up, all in focus. It's all there!

Congrats on a really excellent image. And happy sixteenth to your daughter!

    Cheers!
    Bruce

PS Looks like the weather might me a tad nicer there than here!

That is one fantastic composition, the deep blue/green BG color is excellent, great detail
on the bird for 25% crop (FX does it nicely here). If I have to find a way to make it better I'd
say just a bit better HA perhaps.
    Great one in any case.

Beautiful image! You did well with what looks like less than perfect light.
Just saw it's only 25% of full frame - the Nikon D700 looks like a pretty amazing camera!

Brilliant IQ Tony, and what a perfect pose. The little guy is pin sharp, and what an interesting looking perch, and all against such a smooth BG. Great capture.

Wonderful comp and colours, tchnically spot-on. I didn't realise that these had been introduced to NZ.

    Tony:
Nice colors, pleasant background, but its the shapes of the plant 'pods' which echo the birds shape that makes it special for me. Very nice comp.

Tony....really liked the compostion with the perch. Beautiful BG too. My only wish is the lower pod to be as sharp as the other two. But as-is, it is very nice too.
