Here's another frosted leaf image. For this one, I decided to apply a blue-gray tritone, which I think helps give the image a chilly feel. Let me know what you think of it! :)

    Olympus SP-550 UZ
    f5.6 @ 1/25, ISO 100
    Aperture priority mode, pattern metering
Processed in PS CS2; very slight crop, curves adjustment, channel mixer, burned the highlights in the surrounding grass a bit, converted to tritone, and added a slight vignette

Christopher, I like the bluish-gray toning that you did. The composition is very nice. The textures look good.

I really like the toning Chris and the composition is great...I'm just not in love with the BG. Personal choice I know but it makes me feel like there is too much going on with all those blades of grass.

Thanks Denise and Jules, appreciate your input. Jules, I see your point on the BG. I'll have to try various different BGs for my frosted leaves. What would you think of asphalt? :D (Just joking!)

    Hi Christopher,
I really love the look of the leaf but I too see Jules' point on the BG. Have you considered finding some water as a backdrop? Or perhaps I should say ice...
I particularly like the toning of the picture as it enhances the wintery mood.
    Best,
    Nicki

Hi Nicki, I hadn't considered trying ice. Now that you mention it, I think that would be a perfect BG. You're making me wish now for winter to come so that I can photograph leaves in the ice and snow! :D
    Thanks for commenting!
