Nice picture from a duck in flight. But two thinks I want to say:

1 the sharpness is on the wings and not the eye
2 You over sharpend the picture (look at the white line around the duck)

Hi gary - See the halo also - caused by over sharpening - can go back to the original and rework - there is a tutorial in the educational resources forum on Refine edge - might help here.
Mr Duck is just slightly past you as pointed out by Harold - best to get him before he has past you.
    Exposure looks good.TFS

Love the wing down position, the exposure, and you have a nice catch light which help bringing out the eye. I also see halo, especially around the dark area of the of bird. Maybe when sharpen an image you can try to use masking and paint away around the edge of the bird.

Hi Gary Great comments and agree with all but this is one fine image !!! Focusing wise it is tough, When using the center point which I do mostly, I tried placing the point on the neck of the bird but .... not always possible !!! We all need a little luck here !!!

Lot's to like here, like Al said, need some luck with BIF. Always best with sun and wind at the back too - nice picture. I love the flying mallard BIF images keep em coming. It is migration season and this is a killer shot - well done.
