Default American Goldfinch on Withered Fall Sunflower

    Cuyahoga County, Ohio | November | Canon 50D | Canon 600mm f4 IS | f7.1 1/125 ISO 200
One from the backyard this weekend. I loved the color combo and shapes here.

    Matthew:
Sharp, well exposed, nice comp., lovely BG.

Very much a fall feeling without being too somber.

    Cheers

Agree with Randy. I particularly like the fact that the yellow flower petals are still there; gives you a sense of season.

This is excellent Matthew... I love the detail top to bottom, and the colors seem well distributed around the image - lots to look at here. What was your setup like shooting 1/125 on a 600 f/4? Did you use a cable release/MLU, or did IS suffice?

I agree with the guys; it gives the right feeling of the season. I also like how nicely balanced photo it is with the colors; yellow head on one side, yellow petals on the other, the pose of the bird and the side view of the flower. Track sharp, nice light, nice BG. Well done.

Beautiful!!! The colour combination of BG and bird is fantastic! Maybe slightly off the top but this is just my taste.

Your lighting nearly looks like a studio shot Mathew. I like the nearly colour coded Goldfinch and sunflower and matching background.

    Nice one mate.
