    Default Baby Ele

In their first few months of life, baby Elephants are very difficult to separate from the protection of their mothers.
This little guy plucked up enough courage to venture out from mum and sisters legs just long enough to extract a few images.

    Marc,

This looks way too oversharpened on my monitor, otherwise very nice .

Personally I would crop/clone out Mum.

Thanks Ken, re, the sharpening, seeing as we both have exactly the same cal monitor, is something I always try never to do? Doesn't appear to be over sharpened on my monitor? Can't explain that? Is it the caked on mud that creates this effect? Not sure.
I was conscious of trying to get just mum's trunk in to create that close bond they have.

    Marc,

The caked mud definitely adds to the effect.

Cute capture and wonderful opportunity to get this little out in the open. I agree about cropping out Mom. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely capture Marc. Look about right on my monitor. Nicely done with the trunks both up.

Marc, the baby doesnt look oversharpened to me, but would actually liked to have seen a litttle more of mom. Reason being, it would show the baby framed between the trunk, and maybe an ear. Still, a great sighting.

Really like the details in the elephant. The soft light really brings out the colors.

Nice and sharp (especially the eye). Also like the transition of the visible grasses to the OOF BG.
