    This little guy insisted on taking a look at me, so I obliged and took a look at him/her!
    Canon 40D, f/5.6, 1/500, ISO 500, 8:00am today
    100-400 @ 400mm, sun from behind. Sharpened in CS3 using Fabs instructions, and also S/H! C&C welcomed

    Hi Bill,

    I like the head angle and composition here. These birds have some spectacular colors in the right light. By photographing in shadow with backlight you have failed to take advantage of what I think is it's most compelling feature.

    I like the pose, looks like a little lighthouse. :) I agree with Jim regarding the light angle and would run NR on the BG.

    Bill, you certainly did well with the composition. Besides above if you add in a little more contrast it would help this image a bit. Once again though if the light were behind you it would have been much easier for you to make the image you wanted.

    I think a little too much S/H. Try creating a Selective Color Layer and choose Black from the drop down menu. Slide the Black slider to the right a bit and see how that looks....

    Thanks for the suggestions. I tried the Selective color and it helped quite a bit Jody. :)
