    Default Autumn Leaf

I think I got inspired by Denise's blue leaf. The BG was three different shots, water, trees, and bricks. I combined them with different blending modes and then put it through Dapainter in the Klimt style. I then added the leaf and put it through some blending modes, dodged and burned. Too much colour???

love the bg painted rendering....would like to see that as a canvas all on its own
with some little hidden graphic element.

Not sure the leaf is most effective here at this size

Jackie, I love the BG colors and the cool vibe it has. I too think it would be fantastic on it's own.Dave's suggestion of small hidden graphic elements would put this in a gallery IMO!

Here it is with a smaller leaf. Not sure which one I like the best. Thanks for the suggestions Dave and Denise. This was a fun image to work on.

I like both . Jackie this is really nice and I think this would look great on the wall. You could also play around w/ adding some small clumped areas of texture -kinda like it was painted w/ thick oil paint. Just throwing some ideas out there. Can you tell I like this one?

I love the background too - great bold colors and the pattern blended so nicely. I like the original with the leaf. I think the way the leaf is showing through in places tells a story of the transition that leaves make in Autumn. My thoughts were that the leaf would soon be completely gone and totally blended in. You might not have intended that story, but that's what I got! :)

Thanks Denise, agree with more texture.... I was afraid of crossing the "overworked" line. Still have the file. Will play around some more, when I get the "That's it" idea that lights up in my head. (never sure when that will be:))

Jackie - this is GREAT! I love all three versions - I might like the 1st better with a different color on the leaf. But,
hey, I'd love it if I had created any of them!:D

This is quite the colorful array. Very attractive Bg- I like the original with the leaf, as it gives a focus to the "riot of colors" (in a good sense of the term). An abstract, IMHO, doesn't have to be totally non-representational...

Anyway, very nice work. It's fun to see the little details in the design.

This is ONLY a play as most here seem to not mind
a few options or a prodding for a "That's it" idea.
    A small vision I had:

made a b/w copy and brightened highlights
    copied to clipboard
    New alpha channel.....pasted b/w as A1
rendered lighting to enhance the alpha 1 highlights.....mountain 6
shapes tool for leaves.....glass filter and shadowed.
Might open some random rotting holes in the leaves too!

just playing on a boring morning....thanks Jackie, this is a wonderful base image

I love the colors and the texture does add a bit of depth. Nice repost Dave. I still like it solo.
