    Default Bald Eagle with breakfast

Hi all, It's been a while since I've had something to post...

Around this time of year, Bald Eagles gather around the mouth of a creek just north of where I live to feed on trout. I was fortunate to find this rather vocal individual with a fresh catch this morning. It was heavily overcast, and in November up here, that means dark.

    Canon 50D, Canon 500 f4 plus 1.4x, ISO 800, 1/50 sec, f/5.6, +2/3 EV

Comments and critiques are much appreciated!

    Cheers!
    Bruce

This is an excellent eagle capture under any conditions and you've really made the best of the situation, given an 1/50th shutter speed at such a long focal length. I especially love the bloody fish and the purple (ish) bokeh which is nice and smooth at ISO 800 here. The eagle is reallly looking at you and his eyes are nice and sharp. There is something a little harsh about the beak area but I'm not sure what is going on there. Great shot though!

This is great Bruce... love the dead-on stare, fish in the talons, and i like your composition with the perch/branch in the lower righthand portion of the frame.

Wow excellent detail and that stare puts it over the top for me. Great timing and beautifully captured. Thanks for sharing Bruce.

Good for you Bruce to make the most of the shot. It looks nicely processed also with no noise that I can see. Sharp eyes and I love those big beefy feet. One day the clouds will part. Dave

I like the pose, light and BG, the fish adds to it. I would give it a bit more room.
