    Hi Richard,

    I like the composition you chose. I also like the bird's pose and the wispy clouds in the bg. My only nits are: the angle is a bit steep and there is some minor noise in the bg. Backing up and increasing the focal length would have helped with the angle and selectively sharpening just the bird would likely have helped with the noise in the bg.

    Very nice image! Adding to Jim's comments, the light angle is not ideal and it looks as if you need to clean the sensor. I might try a wider crop.

    A good effort here Richard. Certainly a worthwhile subject and you did well. A little more room on the bottom and left would help as well as a better angle as mentioned. Stepping back a bit and zooming out to 500mm would make the angle a little less apparent.
