Minolta Dimage IV and Siverfast Ai IT8 software

Have used this Scanner and am looking to see if anyone who owns this scanner has ventured to purchase the Silverfast Ai IT8 software and noticed a vast improvement on their scans. Any feedback positive or otherwise will be appreciated.

I have an epson XL scanner that came with the silverfast ai it8 software, and I am very happy with the color calibration the software provides. Most scans need no adjustment(film, print or slide). If you have a dedicated calibration software that will work with scanners, I'd give it a try first to save a few $, but I've been pleased with the silverfast stuff.
