I liked this nice clean green BG and water. White line on the bill unfortunately pushed over the edge on converting to sRGB for web.

Nice one Tony. The swan's black plumage looks great against the green water. Man, that is one straight neck! Nice comp, with good space for the subject to swim into.

What a magnificent bird. This image brings out the best in a fine species. Great against the green BG.

Great job on exposing those blacks perfectly. That BG with the contrasting red bill really makes this image. Congrats

Tony, excellent exposure on the blacks, showing good detail, and I like the softer light in this. These guys really swim majestically, and I agree, you got yourself a lovely clear water BG. You could have moved the swan a bit to the right, but then you would lose more of the trailing wake.

    Tony:

Very nice. Techs as mentioned. We have a black swan family at the local bird sanctuary, and I love the texture shape of their feathers. Really lovely up close. A difficult exposure challenge between the reds, white band on bill and dark overall plumage.

The male is amazingly protective of his family. Whenever I approach, he swims as close to the fence as possible to shoo me away.

I also really like the strangled pipe organ sound they make.

Thanks. This one made me smile.

Excellent all around Tony! The green and beautifully exposed black are fabulous. Love the details in the plumage, that red eye and bill, and the bright trail in the water. Wonderful image.

    Cheers!
