    Default Killdeer

I am finally learning how to process images, so I decided it was time to start posting some of them.

Picture was taken in the early morning.
    Canon EOS 50D & 600mm F4 with 1.4 teleconverter.
    ISO 800 f/6.3 1/800sec
I cropped a little off the top and the right side.

I am here to learn so don't hold back.

Very nice pose and sharpness. Bird well placed in the frame. The whites in the neck look borderline, I'm sure you have a bunch of blown pixels under the eye. You could recover them at conversion in the highlight recovery, although this may be a product of jpg conversion. Not sure I like the OOF weeds to the lower right.
You could take advantage of the size limits to post a bit bigger. Thanks for sharing and belated welcome to BPN :)

Nice and sharp and lovely warm plumage detail, Rodney. Fabs has covered all the points, I think.

Nice low angle and great eye contact Rodney. I agree on trying to recover some detail in the whites.

Gald you are noe posting Rodney! Whites are the biggest concern here, and Fabs has pointed you in the right direction. I like the leaf in front of the bird, but not so much the OOF clump in LRC. Nice low angle. Hoping to see more form you (and at a larger size!) :-)

Thanks for all of the comments so far. I tried reprocessing the image. It may be that some of the whites in the neck are blown. I don't know if it is any better or not. I also took a look at the posting size and saved it at the maximum.

Great repost Rodney, and the whites on the neck look fine. Im going with Dan regarding the plants, but overall good pp work - especially no halos. Well done.

Repost is a big step up, Rodney. Well done. Next step is a QM to nail the OOF blob.
