Default Cattle Egret into the sunset

Hi everyone! Sorry for not being as active as usual, had a hectic few weeks at work and my wife is writing exams so time for viewing and commenting is limited :)

Went out for the first time in a long while the other day (it's been raining non-stop ever since so I'm glad I did) to our local pond.

The cattle egrets are in breeding plumage again and have returned to the area.

    Techs:
    Canon 1000D with 100-400mm L IS USM @ 210mm
    f5.6 @ 1/640 SS @ ISO-400
    Exp +0.3
toned down some blue in the shaded whites of the bird

Great wing position and soft light, BG not bad either. Does the purple in the lore get as bright as it does here?

Nice and sharp, Morkel. Glancing light showing the texture of the near primaries well. BG nicely blurred. Might darken down the pale horizontal line in the dark area lower left.

Great comp and eye contact Morkel. I wouldn't mind a higher shutter speed to minimize the wing blur.

I like the wing blur as it gives the feeling of some motion. Nice job on exposure and comp.

Birds pops quite nicely against the BG. Good exposure, and quite sharp as posted. I like the wing position. Very well done Morkel!

P.S. Good call on toning down those blues...

Well exposed Mork, and a good flying posture too. Overall sharp, and certainly does pop from the BG nicely. Well captured.

Very nicely done Morkel! Neat and sharp, with good selection of ss. Excellent details and pops nicely from the bg. Pretty neat!
