From a couple days ago . . . he stood there for a long time (as they are wont to do). I think it is a juvy Green Heron. Critique always appreciated.

Wendell: A lovely shot! The light is sweet, the HA, eye contact and detail are great. I could imagine this as a vertical (better for the magazine cover) if you chose to add some canvas at the top. I see three or four dust bunnies which would just take a few clicks to fix; and possibly a tiny sharpening halo. Those are small details; overall it's a great capture IMHO. Nicely done! And yes, I would say juvi Green Heron.

Great shot, good HA and nice eye. Maybe tight at the top and too much neg space on RHS. Agree w/ Bill regarding dust spots. Try and zooming images to 100% or more, then a hard review prior to posting - well done.

    Love the perch.

I am on work monitor, is the histogram all the way to the right?

Looking really good wendell - bit more space at the bottom - toes are just clipped. Agree with the crop from the RHS.
    Sweet light.

Love the golden light, the nice big sharp eye, the HA, the pose and the feather details. Very well done indeed. A quick way to check for dust on your image is to increase contrast and look for spots.
