Here's a juvenile Sandhill Crane looking very good in the early morning light. I'm headed back to the Bosque this afternoon with my teenage son. It'll be his first time photographing down there. I'm going to teach him how to hand hold (training wheels...the 400 f/5.6). Should be a great time! I'm going to try and make Artie's presentation tonight at K-Bob's.
Canon 7D, 500mm + 1.4x, f/7.1, 1/1250, ISO 400, manual exposure, hand held
Hey Doug, got space for me too. I would love to shoot down your way, as you sure are nailing these cranes. This is definately sharper than your previous post, and just the flying posture. The crane is separated from the BG so well. If I had to change anything, I would maybe tone the crane down a touch. Congrats on a fine image.
BG complements the juvi plumage beautifully. Have a great tine with your son, Doug. Some of my most precious moments with my teenage daughter are in the field with birds and cameras.
