I am going to try my hands on canon for few days and so i need your help.
Would like to setup the camera from scratch for bird photography.
Camera body i am going to use
350D and 40d
lenses canon 100-400 and 500 F4 EF L
please give me tips how i should setup so that i can get proper results in BIF as well as perched.
would like to know how should i use canon as i am pure nikon person but somehow going to use canon as well frequently.
want to know which mode i should choose i suppose AV, which metering mode, what would be the compensation, what should be the picture setting (standard, neutral ) with what settings in it ?, what Focus point settings required, which will be the best aperture to shoot on these two lenses ? and many more things to bring the images in good shape back at home :)
i really appreciate the time you give to read and reply
Artie had a good write-up on 50D settings in one of his blog entries. Most of them should be applicable to 40D as well. Check the following link. Am sure most of your questions will be answered.
hi narayan,
so far its really awesome. not used it at intense just two trip to sanctuary as it was of my friend and we shared as i was not having my own nikkor 80-400 lens with me i used his.
I loved the Common Starling image you posted with the 500....you definitely are enjoying the 500 :)...initially I thought you were planning to change to canon gear .
yes I understand ,500 for me is a distant dream :) ... so just bought a 400 f/5.6 this week ,yet to test it ....but this was the only prime i could afford.
