this looks great, gary. just a little tight in the frame for me. would love to see some top and right to give the bird some room to land in. detail in the bird is fantastic, but i would definitely raise the ISO to get more shutter speed. beautiful light. nice job!

Great action photo, great detail in the bird. Maybe a little cw rotation. Agree little more room top. TFS

Hi Gary - sweet light- love the action and great feel - agree a tad tight - might even add a little more room up front for him to ski into and a little CW rotation.
Would definitely bump that ISO up - Think the 50D performs quite well up to 800.
    Good show ;)

An amazing shot Gary, love how the head is sharp while the water trail behind the bird blurred which give a sense of motion. Good exposure on black and whites too. Just wish the far wing is separate from the head.

Great panning Gary !!! Just more room as noted and don't know if you have a frame with the head clear of the wing !! ... couple of frames before Sweet !!!

Nice one, I never use ISO100, too restrictive in terms of shutter speed. Most Canon pros use 200 or 400. Remember sharpness is the key, it trump(s) everything.

As you can see sun is at an angle but so what, still a great picture and whites look good with nice texture. In a perfect world we want sun and wind at our back with BIF. Agree with comments above, too tight. Fantastic action shot, open this up, add canvas and hang this one on the wall - well done.

Thanks for all the comments and advice! This is about all I can add to this. The shot was almost full frame and with the slight rotation of the shot it was limited. I checked and all the frames after this one the far wing was behind the head in every one. I just have to get a better one. Also, starting to learn what everyone is looking for and thanks again for all the help!
