    Default Mellow Yellow Floral...

Here's a strange photo I just discovered on an old Kodak PhotoCD. Would not open with HP Vista but with no issues on my MacBook Pro OS: Snow Leopard. It has a very strange look to it. Not sure about the artifacts encircling the flower.

Nikon F5, Nikkor 105 mm. macro, PB4 bellows, Nikon SB 25 flash and tripod. Photo about 2X as I remember. Not sure of the exposure on Fuji Velvia film.

    FocalBlade

    Enjoy...

Charles, It has a very unique look to it with the artifacts. I like the colors in the BG and they look really nice with the daisy color. I might add a bit of canvas up top. It has a cool effect.TFS.

    Denise,

It does need canvas on the top. Do you know how to remove the artifacts? I tried but it was not working for me...

Charles, I'm not sure you can get rid of that much compression. Might be best to go with the flow and leave it as an artistic impression. Maybe others will have some thoughts.

    Nice image and application, Charles.

Agree with Denise to go with the flow. Otherwise maybe modify with Poster Edge or Ink Outline to offset the artifacts. But ... Your image, your vision.

    Denise & Mark,

I'll just go with the flow. Must review my workflow. Don't have any idea where the compression is coming from.

I agree with all - leave the artifacts. They add an artistic appeal IMHO. I like the way they warp near the stem.

How interesting that they just appeared. We spend a ton of money on software to make such artifacts (DAP, fractalius, Topaz, etc) and yours just appear out of cyberspace. That's cool.

charles, that kind of artifact normally comes from some kind of gradient filter. nonetheless, i like it here!! only wish for some more up top as already mentioned. cool stuff!
