    Camera RAW 5.6

    From Adobe
    Newly supported camera models include:

    * Canon EOS 7D

    * Mamiya DM22, DM28, DM33, DM56, M18, M22, M31
    * Nikon D3s
    * Olympus E-P2
    * Pentax K-x
    * Panasonic FZ38
    * Sigma DP1s
    * Sony A500
    * Sony A550
    * Sony A850

    Camera Raw 5.6 also provides a a fix for an issue affecting PowerPC customers using the final Camera Raw 5.5 and DNG Converter 5.5 updates on the Mac. The issue, introduced in the demosaic change to address sensors with unequal green response, has the potential to create artifacts in highlight areas when processing raw files from Sony, Olympus, Panasonic and various

    Thanks for posting this Michael. This is good news. I do wonder if Light Room will be updated or will we have to wait until LR 3.0?? I tried to update LR this AM and the "You are up to date" dialogue came up.

    This is a release candidate Ed. You have to download and install it manually. It is a free download for Lightroom 2.0 users, and will shortly be released as a true (and free) update to Lightroom 2.5 after they work out the last few details.

    Looks like this is a beta version - looking for use and feedback before automatic release - so I wouldn't get too enthusiastic - and that is probably why you are still currently up-to-date, Ed.

    finally now in LR you can control the correct camera profile so the colors are correct :)

    Camera RAW 5.6 finally processes 7D raw files w/o mazing artifacts, a-mazing !

    I thought that was a problem fixed in the latest firmware?

    I give up; where did you find 5.6. I just went to the Adobe Download Center and it is only showing 5.5.
