Corn fields around Albuquerque usually have plenty of sandhills. The open spaces on the west side of the Rio Grande is a good place to start.
I cloned out a sandhill head behind this guy.

I like the angle, soft light, eye contact and am wondering what the BG is. I might sharpen the bird a tad more. ISO 200 would have allowed you to stop down a little.

Looks like you caught this with the best possible lighting conditions for good detail under the wings ,Beautiful BIF image

Nice pose and great feather details, agree about the sharpening with Axel.

Axel, the background was a snow cloud which passed through town.

Great inflight pose and lighting Gary. Would also benefit with a round of USM.

That's not the dark grey clone mark I can see behind the Crane's feet is it?

Agree to the above comments. Looks kind of dark on my monitor so wonder if a little bit of brightening would help.

One very nice flight pose, great HA and wing position. As presented it is dark and needs brightening. Well done.

Looking good. Great background, I usually get OOF cornfield stubble. I think I see where you cloned, but only because you mentioned it. The darker area just behind the feet? If not, ignore my comment. Everything else is fine.

Lovely image. Great wing details and they are up! I would just lighten the image a tad.
