    “Lets Play”

This is Ben, a playful chap that was showing gratitude after a nice lunch at the zoo. Ben resides in New York’s Bronx Zoo. He was painted with a Nikon D70s, using a Nikkor 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6D ED lens.

    Image Solution:
    focal length @ 400mm / exposure mode @ aperture priority / in camera matrix metering / 1/1250 sec - f/11 /exposure comp @ +0.3EV / ISO @ 400 / white balance @ auto / AF - Mode @ auto / color space @ sRGB / lighting solution – ambient light / tone comp @ 1 degree / hue adjustment @ 1 degree / saturation factor @ 2 degrees / support platform – hand held.

    Comments greatly appreciated…

Pretty kitty. Looks nice and sharp with plenty of detail in the fur. Love the pose and especially the eye contact. Is it just me or are the blacks a little light/flat?

This beautiful photograph, the title for it, and the discussion so far reminded me of the limerick by Wallace Tripp:

There was a young man from the city
Who met what he thought was a kitty
    He gave it a pat
    And said, "Nice little cat."
We're sending a wreath out of pity.

Lovely shot, well done. I'd keep my distance. ;)

    Hi Desmond,
There was a D70 followed by the D70s and within a couple months later came the D50...:D:cool:

    Gus-
Just about "purrfect." Love the direct look and the nice low angle, but what really makes it for me are the paws in play position. I wonder if shot at say 370mm or so might emphasize that element?

    Hi Gus

Another awesome photo, proves it's the photographer, not the camera. Gus you could take fabulous photos with a pin hole box!!
