    Default Gotcha!!

Great egret. Not as clean and nice as the GBH one that Daniel had posted( a while back). I admit that I had Daniel's image in my mind when I came across this scene. So zero points for originality here folks.

This is from the same series as the other one I had posted earlier....egret still in ripples.

    40D. 300 f/4 non-IS. 1/1600. f/4. iso 400. Curves in DPP and NR using neatimage.

    All opinions welcome.

Lovely silhouette, beautiful colors, and I like the fact that the water splashes are not opaque!

KD, great contrast between the silhouette and the colourful water BG. Good to see the egret having fun. When you mean "gotcha" - was it you capturing the shot, or the egret catching something?

Both :-) Daniel's image of GBH has been etched in my memory. So when I came across the egret in the water, I wished he did this and he obliged. The light faded fast and I did not get another opportunity.

HI Kaustubh, I Like this image very much. The color of the water is pleasing and the silhouette is sharp. The splash and water drops add drama. Nicely done and thanks for sharing.

Yes I remember Daniel's post as well. Great color saturation, silhouette, and splash. Just wish the egret was more parallel to the sensor plane.

Glad my GBH images were an inspiration for you Kaustubh! You did well with the full silhouette, and colours look good. I do wish for better separation between splash and neck. I'd crop above to get rid of the lighter streaking up there. Overall well done...I like it!

Great reflexes, and colours are superb. I would have preferred it if more of the head was visible?
