This was shot from the stern of a moving boat in Pine Island Sound (SW Florida) in late afternoon. Handheld Canon 40D, 70-200 f 2.8L IS set at 95mm. Aperture 2.8, Shutter speed 1/500, -1 exposure compensation, ISO 400. Added some definition and a little contrast and saturation in Aperture. This is my first post and I'm looking forward to comments. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to BPN, Jim! Beautiful lighting. Love the action and the diagonal position of the dolphin. Could use a tad more space on the bottom as the dolphin's snout is pretty close to the edge. I also wish the dolphin's eye was a bit more visible, but those are relatively minor points. Very nice image!
Jim: Welcome. Love the golden light. I agree with Christopher about some more room bottom and left for him to move into. As fast as these guys move, a faster shutter might have helped, although the blur does give it a sense of motion. Nice work!
Hi Jim - A big warm welcome to the BPN family - dont hesitate to make comments on other peoples images - best way to learn!! All we ask is that you say what it is or isn't that you like about the shot.
Nice first post - sweet light - Agree with the above comments - a little more space at the bottom would be good - just to give him a little room to move into - Has a nice going forward type feel to it.
Techs look solid - good to see the use of exposure compensation.
Christopher, Bill and Lance-
Thank you for the very constructive comments and the kind words of encouragement. I look forward to actively participating in BPN.

Hi Jim,
A big warm welcome to the BPN family...I like your first post...agree with the techs. and sound advise given...looking forward to your next one...:)
Big Warm Welcome !!!!! Agree with comments and can add you might want to work on the bright spot by the nose. I would clone some texture form the surrounding are at a reduced opacity and just go about it carefully. If you only lower the intensity with levels etc the area will turn sort of dull gray.
big welcome to bpn, jim!! awesome first post. agree with the others about it being a little tight in the frame. you caught him at the perfect moment. looking forward to more!
