I added a few different treatments to this. Lighting effect, find edges, snow, then some brush pre-sets. This image I took at Sandy Hook specifically with this card design in mind. Of course they never really come out as originally envisioned by me.:)

Denise, This should print out perfectly on the horizontal card design. The placement of the birds and tree are excellent. How long did you have to wait to get the shot?

I really like the snow in this one. It has the larger and smaller particles that look more realistic than what I have been getting. How do you achieve that?

Thankyou Patti for the kind comments. I saw the Sanderlings lining up together and thought how cute it would look for my card, I spent about a half an hour trying to get one I liked. After seeing this completed I should add some detail to the lone Sanderling, which I probably will before print. I downloaded an action by Dave Seerum(sp?) off the internet for the snow. Just google it-you should be able to find it. If not you can always add the snow on a seperate layer and mess w/ it till you get it the way you want. Sometimes I add a motion blur to it.

Here is a repost-Any better? I didn't like the blurry Sanderling on the right.

Thanks Denise. I'll check out the action.

I love the repost!!! I actually didn't even notice the blurry one, but I do like the replacement. Looks like they are all waiting for Santa the same way I did as a kid - sleeping with one eye open.

I've been looking for phrases to put on whatever card I end up with and found this one...

Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful. ~Norman Vincent Peale

It seems to fit your card, although I know you are as good with words as with your artwork, so I'm sure you already have the words to put inside.

So glad you like it and would love it if you use it.

I found another phrase (author unknown) that I am trying to get a photo to work for, but so far I don't have any night shots that work. I am trying to turn a daytime shot into a night shot for it, but it's stretching my abilities. The phrase is...

    A silent night
    a Star above
    a blessed gift
    of Hope and Love

If anyone can make this one work - have at it. I'd love to see some tries. If I ever get mine presentable, I'll post it.

I really think this has xmas written all over it, if repost had a 37 with USA under it it, in top right corner, it would make a lovely christmas stamp..(Paul is a collector)
