    Default Harlequin on the Rocks

Here is a male harlequin that stood around long enough for me to get an image made. A few seconds of sun helped me quite a bit. Wished that he would have turned around for me--but that was not what he had in mind.
In this image I smoothed out some of the bg water and toned the saturation of the bg down.

Nice portrait and profile with water part conveying motion which I like very much.
I'm still unsuccessful with this species.

Another fabulous shot Bonnie. I expect it when I see your name by the thumbnail. As Charles said, the motion of the water is conveyed very well and the contrasting colors on the duck were handled beautifully. Composition might seem a little tight for some but I love it.

Thank you, Danny! Yes--I had originally had this image cropped much looser. I like the habitat--and the rocks were supporting the crop, but I ended up coming in closer--I think the bird stands out much better--at least for the web image. I think the looser image would look fine in print. For some reason I didn't like it as much for web presentation.

Great shot Bonnie. The duck is unbelievable looking but I think I like the setting just as much. The splashing water really adds tons to your image. Well done on every account.

Nicely done Bonnie. Good job on the BG water. Nice angle on your duck and I like the water lapping at the rocks.

Bonnie, Great looking image. The head turn is nice. I like that you captured him on the rocks and we can see his feet. I love the water splashing around below him. Just fantastic!

Good exposure on the darker plumage Bonnie, and what a lovely pose. I like the lapping water on the rock he's perched on.
