Light seem harsh but you did well with the exposure for this black and white bird. Only a few bit of whites on the wing is lost but you probably can recover that in RAW. The perch is too big for me and it is stealing my attention away from the bird, so maybe more of the left and less of the right.

    Hi Bob,
Its always nice to see one of these little guys up and about...:) I took the liberty of making a few adjustments to your image. I cropped a little from the right side of the frame because the tree was too over powering, and added canvas to the left side in order to bring the eye of Mr. Bird to the 1/3 intersecting point. I toned down your whites and increased the saturation and contrast just a hair, and selective sharpened the eye...see if this good with you...

Definate improvement, Gus. Yes Thanaboom, the light was getting harsh when I encountered this guy. I was about to call it a day when he appeared.

    Thanks much.

    Hi Bob

Agree with suggestions and can add when trying to frame place the bird lower in frame to give space for movement, also capturing at eye level is desirable ... but difficult !!! Looking forward to the next one !!!
