This is one more from the other day. It was such nice light and the water was a great shade of blue. This taken with the D300 and Nikon 500 f/4, f/8, iso 500, 1/2000, and with the pleasure of The Quick Action Harness. All C&C welcomed as usual.:)

Nancy...loved the wing position and the light here. Just wishing for a little more room( the wing touching the edge on the right side) and I think you can tone it down a bit. Haven't checked the histogram but the bill and the head area look a little too bright. But it might be my office laptop which sucks!
I am going to try and get some similar pelican flight shots this winter here. So I am interested in what critiques others have to offer on this.
Thanks for the comments:). This one is full frame. It would not be a problem to add a bit of canvas on either side. As far as the whites go, on my monitor they are within range, that is my main desktop monitor. I tend not to judge whites on my laptops much, cause they always seem to be brighter.
Great image here. I am surprised at the bill color, I guess most of mine are during breeding, do they get bright orange at that time? On mine, the bill is about the same color as the feet on yours.
The whites look fine on my monitor, so I don't think it's an exposure deal. Also, the bill has detail. Other than the tight wingtips, I see nothing wrong here, the bill color is a question, not a problem.
I guess you could add canvas, but it is going to be tough to match that water.
the bill and the head area look a little too bright...otherwise beautiful wing position and pose!
Beautiful flight pose Nancy and good detail in the whites. I would like to have a little more canvas on the left and right but excellent timing on this one.
