    Amazing surf this afternoon. I hadn't used my IR camera in a while, and tried it out on a few pics.

    20d IR + 17-85 IS at f/16

    Michael,
    I like this a lot! You've caught the surf at just the right spot to create a careful balance between sand and sky. The light really brings out the texture in both driftwood and water. I think having the subject centered L-R (which could be perceived as static) works here because of the very dynamic water throughout the middle third of the image. This pulls me right onto the beach, feeling the breeze and hearing the surf.

    Oh how I've missed your IR photos, Michael! Glad to see you're back...

    I loved this in the thumbnail and couldn't wait to get it open. The driftwood is gorgeous but now that i see the full version it feels a bit dark in the surf area of the image. Did you try to bring out any additional detail in that middle surf line? I think you could bring a bit more up and add even more interest to this beautiful image. The sky area also looks a little noisy or blotchy but I bet a quick pass of surface blur or noise reduction would pull that right out.
