Another from last weeks outing to the WR. Tried to get this bird to land on a set up pine cone but it was more interested in the perch set up for the woodpecker.

Nice background and the exposure looks good.

I would like to see the bird further to the right in the frame.

The OOF upper portion of the tree trunk and the OOF bittersweet set up distracts to my eyes as they are front most in the image.

Also, to me at least, the bittersweet looks as though it was placed there since I'm used to seeing it grow much more haphazardly in the field.

Beautiful sharp image ,but would rather see more space in front of bird ,red berries add nice colour to image but detract from subject bird

cropping right from berries to eliminate them and adding canvas in front of bird would be my choice

Yes, the composition is a "rule" breaker...but in a very positive way!! A great example IMO of when to venture outside the expected. I find it well balanced but I would go even further and crop away half the space below the bird. Good eye in seeing the image this way :-)

This composition works IMO. Your bird is tac sharp. Love the way he's on his tippy toes. Colors all work nicely together.
