A painted mocker with a bad head angle, but I liked the setting down in
the green leaves and his alert awareness. An older shot from several years
ago and run through DAP this morning.
Thanks for looking in and c/c....have a great week all

Dave, I love the alert pose too. One of the things I love about Mockingbirds is their great looking eye. I'm glad you revealed it. I really like how the foliage is coming into focus very naturally. Colors are fantastic. I might tone down the tiny bright spot by the tip of the tail. (very minor).

I went on your web-site last night and the new additions in the pet paintings category are great!! They would make a great Holiday gift. :D I wonder if the DAP treatment would look good on a note card size? because those would make beautiful personalized cards-as an add on sale after they bought the portrait.:)

thanks Denise, good catch on the bright spot.
The paintings look good small, but need a fresh application of texture at the reduced size.
Having just moved and being ill, the pet paintings have been on hold, but do have a few
    potentials in the wings.

    have a super week

    Hi Dave:

Great painting young man, supberb colors and texture.

Denise keeps mentioning Notecards, and a Christmas Notecard contest coming up. If anyone is interested I have a tutorial at http://unclegus.150m.com/Notecards/DisNDat.htm using a free program that I have used for making over a 1000 notecards every year that I have sold mostly at Madera Kubo B&B in Madera CanyoN. Using the card stock I mention is top class with envelopes.

Any questions, email me at gush@cox.net

For a sample to first 20 requests please send me an address.

    FWIW

    Keep smiling

Very nice image, Dave! The HA could be a little better, but it's not bad IMO. Love all the green and wonderful painting effect.

Love the way this has a spot focus look and the canvas texture just works so well. Great greens and subject and the way the branch with the leaves fades in and out, gives this depth. Would like to see more like this Dave. Excellent image and effect use.

Nice rendering and masking of the foliage. Would look nice as a print Dave. Great pose and sharp eye.
