I saw this pair of Eastern Kingbirds in the field next to my house but I couldn't get close to them. Finally, I got on my ride mower and rode over to the edge of my yard next to the field and they didn't seem to mind at all. This resulted in a rare, handheld shot from a tripod fanatic. The sun was pretty bright so I toned down the white on the lower bird's chest.

From the embedded exif I see this was taken in May...this pair must have been scouting for a nest location, if not already started one. I like that you have both individuals perching on the same plant, and I like that they are looking in opposite directions - thus permitting a centered comp. I'm not sure if this is cropped or not, but I would go in tighter if the details can hold up. Some of the OOF strands, especially in the lower part, are distracting...so is the shadow on the top bird's head. Harsh light did not help, but you did best you could considering the circumstances!
