    Nice portrait and detail. IMO the image could benefit from a big lift (maybe just S&H), currently it doesn't do justice to the bird or the photgrapher!

    Very sharp, nice details. Need to set white point at top of head, and adjust the yellows in Selective Color to bring out the beak a little more.

    Thanks for sharing this very pleasing image!

    In viewing it, however, I felt that it could be brightened a bit, to good effect.

    So I applied simple levels and curves adjustments in PS, to produce this repost. I think the changes may enhance the image of the bird, and also improve the definition of the scale pattern of the fish that the bird has captured.

    Yes, this image definitely had to be lightened. Both good reposts - I think I prefer the WB on Norm's version. In any case this situation would have been perfect for some fill-flash. I know we cannot plan for that - but I wish the fish was facing us instead, and would also prefer a better HA. Good ahrpness, and the grey BG suits this guy nicely.
