What lovely colors. They are one of my favorite birds. The only suggestion I would have maybe tone down the pink in the BG. Nice compostion and HA for sure.

thats fantastic shot subbu. awesome bird and you got this one with the pretty natural bg very rare to have such bg. i agree on tone down the pink on bg. expo is just too good.

a little personal suggestion over the techs are :

I found a little shake may possible with 1/50 speed.. may it possible to have iso boost arround 400 and getting nice speed.

keep on sharing the beauty from your kitty....

This is a lovely bird. I like how you place it in the image. Pretty good detail for 1/50 of a second. I agree with Mital that increasing the ISO to gain shutter-speed would be a good strategy. I also agree that the color in the lower left hand corner could be toned down a little. Thanks for sharing.

The two main issues have been covered (especially overpowering flower colours). Nice looking bird, and I like the green part of the BG. Another, smaller issue, is the blunt ending of the perch.

P.S. The 40D handles ISO 800 very well, do not be afraid to bump it up when needed ;-)
