Jay, this has surely better wing position than the other one. What strikes me is that the colors are so different between the two (especially the sky) I guess you used different WB or processing(?) This is overall a very good image except for the membrane is half closed or there is strong reflection. If your ethics allow, it can be easily corrected by the eye doctor. detail is very good.

Hi Jay I like this one better, the other does not seem attractive.

You did great with the light here Jay !! Lots of detail in the shadows and still kept the white head in check. About all I would do is work on the eye, on this one the bird is pulling the membrane (check difference with previous)

I knew you would do great with Jim, no better for teaching flight !!!! ...btw lens selection wise I see its a 50% crop with a 1.4X ... one of the reason I don't like using that lens, would have been sweet with a straight 500 !! When I used that lens had the 2.0 on it all the time !!

Like the wing position here. Seems like there might be a white balance problem that could use a minor adjustment. The eye definitely needs a touch up. Nevertheless, it looks like the hand-holding is working out
    for you.

    Hi Jay,
I like the capture, nice sharp details and good raised wing position, agree on the eye...keep them coming Sir. :)
