Shot at Bosque Del Apache on a wonderful afternoon shooting with Jim Neiger and Doug Brown.

I highly recommend Jim Neiger's Flight School for anyone who wants to quickly improve their BIF photography skills or make the jump to hand-held flight photography! Thank you for a great day Jim. Doug, your presence was much appreciated by this fledgling bird photographer!

Converted in LR2 then CS4 for final tweaking. This is a fairly large crop and I used Noise Ninja on the background.

    Manual mode, f/5.6@1/2500 ISO 400 WB 5100K
AI Servo autofocus, hand-held no flash

Enjoyed the afternoon and getting to know you Kerry. You couldn't ask for a nicer BG for your Harrier photo. I like the near wing detail and the fact that the beak is clear of the far wing. All in all, a solid flight shot!

Strong points are BG and near wing position. Weak points are not so clear eye and coarse grain as a result of over sharpening. There is also purple fringing on the rump and magenta cast in the shadows and shoulder area.

A little noisy in the dark areas, which should be fixable. Was this a big crop Kerry? Love that BG it's wicked!

Great background, nice posture. Large crop has slighlty compromised the image quality on the bird, but still a very pleasing image.
